Privacy Policy
Overview
CryptoSentinel is a browser extension that displays publicly available cryptocurrency market data. It does not collect, store, or transmit personal information to any backend operated by us.
Data Collection
We do not operate analytics, telemetry, user accounts, or backend data collection for CryptoSentinel.
Local Storage
Your watchlist, alert settings, API keys, and notification preferences are stored locally in your browser
using chrome.storage.local. This data remains on your device unless you explicitly send a notification
through an optional third-party service that you configure.
Third-Party Data Providers
CryptoSentinel fetches public market data directly from these providers:
- CoinGecko - cryptocurrency prices and market data
- Binance - real-time prices, liquidations, funding rates, and chart data
- Bybit - liquidation data
- Alternative.me - Fear & Greed Index
- DefiLlama - token unlock schedules
- Etherscan - on-chain transaction data, using a user-provided API key
These requests are made directly from your browser. We do not proxy or relay them through our own servers.
Optional Notification Services
If you enable phone notifications, the extension can send alert messages to:
- ntfy.sh
- Telegram Bot API
These services are optional and user-configured. Tokens, topics, and chat IDs are stored locally in the browser.
Permissions
- alarms - checks alert conditions in the background
- storage - saves local preferences and alerts
- notifications - displays desktop notifications
Children's Privacy
CryptoSentinel is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.
